Diablo III is an upcoming dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game in development by Blizzard, making it the third installment in the Diablo franchise. The game will also feature elements of the hack and slash and dungeon crawl genres. The game takes place in Sanctuary, the dark fantasy world of the Diablo series. Players will have the opportunity to explore familiar settings such as Tristram.

The release date has not yet been announced, though it will be available on the PC platform on Windows and Mac.

BioShock Infinite is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, and the third game in the BioShock series. It is being developed by Irrational Games for a 2012 release on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

BioShock Infinite is not a direct sequel or prequel to previous BioShock games, taking place in an earlier period and different setting, though it features similar gameplay concepts and themes. The player controls a former Pinkerton agent, Booker DeWitt, as he attempts to rescue a woman named Elizabeth trapped aboard the collapsing air-city Columbia in 1912.

Sonic Generations is an upcoming 2011 platform video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, currently in production by Sonic Team for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS. It celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game and will be released by Sega in North America and Europe during November 1, 2011 and in Japan on December 8, 2011.

Sonic and his friends are celebrating Sonic’s birthday by having a picnic. A cake is revealed, but Sonic and co. become victim to a “time hole”, which takes him and his friends back in time. Sonic then meets a younger version of himself, “Classic Sonic”. The two Sonics then team up to save their friends and fix the time stream.

Professor Layton and the Last Specter, known as Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call in Europe and Australia, is a puzzle video game produced by Level-5 for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. It is the fourth game in the Professor Layton series. The game is a prequel to the series, set three years before the events in Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and tells the story of how Luke met Professor Layton and how he became his apprentice. The game also includes a separate RPG known as ‘London Life’ which can be unlocked after the completion of the main puzzle adventure.

The game was confirmed to release on the Nintendo DS in North America in October 17, 2011, and in Europe on November 25, 2011.

Animal Crossing 3DS First Details and Screenshots

Animal Crossing 3DS was officially re-announced and detailed by Nintendo at their pre-TGS Press Conference. The game had been previously announced but essentially nothing was known about the title until now.

This version of the hit series (which got its start on the GameCube) will take village living to the “next level” by allowing for more personalized customization than ever before, in order to make your village completely unique from others.

In addition to being able to customize the outside (exterior) of your home for the first time, you can also install certain items in the village permanently, which Nintendo says will give more personality to your village and make it unique. These includes Wells and Benches, which you can see in the Animal Crossing 3DS screenshots below.

Furniture can also be customized even further than ever before, and looks more realistic. And time will flow according to the time in the real-world using the clock of the 3DS. Seasons will also change accordingly.

Animal Crossing 3DS will take advantage of the 3DS’ unique features so you can now view the homes of anyone you’ve tagged via StreetPass, and you can now become the Village Chief! As head of the village, you can significantly boost its development! Hopefully this will mean that the entire cast of the game can eventually move in at once! One of the screenshot also reveals the ability to swim! Could exploration be a part of this new Animal Crossing?

Animal Crossing 3DS (working title) is scheduled for release in 2012.
