Diablo III is an upcoming dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game in development by Blizzard, making it the third installment in the Diablo franchise. The game will also feature elements of the hack and slash and dungeon crawl genres. The game takes place in Sanctuary, the dark fantasy world of the Diablo series. Players will have the opportunity to explore familiar settings such as Tristram.

The release date has not yet been announced, though it will be available on the PC platform on Windows and Mac.

It is here that we will post the latest screencaps and artwork from the game. Many of the screenshots could also make great desktop images!

We will add to this gallery as we find cool new pics.

Ever since Blizzard announced in-game auctions using real money would be available in Diablo III, it was only a matter of time that mysterious 3rd party handling the payouts would be made public. As of today, that 3rd party is PayPal. Imagine the surprise.

PayPal has proven to be one of the most reliable ways to send and receive money digitally over the past few years so, as stated before, it comes as no surprise the company was chosen as a partner. It’s also been reported that not only Diablo III will be adopting PayPal, but Battle.net as well.

“Gamers want to focus on gaming and prefer an in-game payments solution that’s convenient, easy and secure,” said PayPal senior director of emerging opportunities Carey Kolaja. ”Last month we told you that our research has shown that over 70 per cent of gamers are PayPal users, and we believe that’s because we understand that central principle. PayPal’s solution for digital goods will help enrich this experience by providing Blizzard’s audience in several regions of the world with another easy, convenient and safe way for making these purchases.”

And before anyone goes haywire about having to use real money to buy stuff in the highly-awaited RPG, gold-based auctions will still be a very viable purchase option.

Diablo III para consolas prácticamente oficializado

Blizzard han decidido renunciar el asunto "rumores y especulaciones" sobre un puerto de consola de Diablo III y casi lo han confirmado que viene tal puerto.

Conducir a diseñador que Josh Mosqueira ha dicho durante una Conferencia de prensa en Gamescom esta semana (a través de Eurogamer). Él no hacerlo oficial, pero dijo que el equipo "es muy, muy serio sobre lo que la experiencia de Diablo III a la consola".

Nos enteramos de que el equipo había buscado para programadores de consola unos meses atrás.

"Hoy, que estamos intentando construir el mejor equipo de la consola en Blizzard," Mosqueira agregado. "Estamos buscando programadores, diseñadores, artistas que piensan que su trabajo ideal sería llevar el Diablo a la consola. Confía en mí, es un trabajo de sueño.

"Todo lo que puedo decir es va a ser impresionante. Esté atento".
